Man arrested for sex with 13-year-old girl in southern Vietnam

Police in Vinh Long Province, located in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta, on Thursday launched legal proceedings against and arrested a local man for allegedly having sex with a 13-year-old girl multiple times.
Tran Van Phong, 61, is being held in custody for four months while an investigation into his alleged crime is ongoing.
Phong, from Binh Tan District in Vinh Long, cut trees for a living in his hometown and lives in a small hut within a fruit tree farm.
During a working session with the provincial police, Phong said he often visited the café where 13-year-old L.A. works as a waitress.
Between July 28 and 30, he asked the girl to come to his hut 'for a chat' and had sexual intercourse with her multiple times.
After each time, he would give the girl VND200,000-VND300,000 (US$9-13).
The case is under further investigation.
