A four-year-old Vietnamese boy who had been missing for nine days was found dead on Tuesday morning in a stream near his house in the southern province of Dong Nai.

The victim was T.V.D.K, who hailed from Dong Nai’s Xuan Loc District.

His mother initiated a search for K. after finding the boy missing from home with the house’s front gate wide open on September 6.

Local authorities later deployed personnel to search for the missing boy for over a week.

On Tuesday morning, a local resident discovered the decomposing body of a boy in a stream one kilometer from the missing boy’s house.

K.’s family was able to identify the body thanks to a bracelet he wore before going missing.

Upon receiving a report on the finding, Dong Nai authorities came to examine the scene and perform an autopsy to investigate the cause of his death.

At noon the same day, the boy’s body was handed over to his family to arrange funerals rites.
