Worshippers, monks, and nuns across Ho Chi Minh City gathered at local pagodas on Sunday to pray for peace and safety on the occasion of the Buddha’s Birthday.

The grand ceremony celebrating the 2,566th Buddha’s Birthday was organized by the Central Committee and Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha at Vietnam Quoc Tu Pagoda in District 10.

The event saw the attendance of many Buddhist monks and nuns, who arrived early in the morning to offer flowers and pay their respect.

In Vietnam, Buddha’s Birthday is traditionally celebrated by Buddhists during which many big programs are often organized by monasteries to mark the important event.

While taking part in these programs, Buddhists will spend time reviewing the Buddha’s birth and life, the history of Buddhism, as well as his teachings.
