Child drowns in adult swimming pool in northern Vietnam

Functional forces in the northern Vietnamese province of Thai Binh are investigating the drowning of a ten-year-old child in a swimming pool dedicated to adults on Monday morning, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

Staff at Dai Thanh Long swimming pool in Vu Thu District, Thai Binh, discovered B.A., a fourth grader at Vu Thu Town Elementary School, floating on the water at around 9:00 am on the day, according to a local official.

The staff immediately gave B.A. first aid, but to no avail.

Following the child’s death, the local police and People’s Procuracy have tried to find out the cause of the incident.

Dai Thanh Long swimming pool is located in Dai Thanh Long sports complex, which was developed by Dai Thanh Long Construction, Trading and Manufacturing Co. Ltd. in Vu Thu Town under the namesake district.
