The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) is verifying a video clip of a man filming a woman dancing on the apron of an airport in northern Quang Ninh Province.

In the video, which is nearly 20 seconds long, a woman is dancing while a friend films her with his smartphone on the apron of Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh.

After reviewing the footage, the CAAV believed that the two people in the clip were standing in a safe area, a representative of the agency said.

The area where the girl was dancing is situated between the apron bus and the plane door, the representative elaborated, adding that it is common that passengers take pictures at this section.

The CAAV still needs to examine the incident from other angles, thus it has asked the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) and the Van Don airport to review the CCTV system to determine the time and location of the incident.

Different sections of an airport apron are marked by multiple lines, according to the CAAV representative.

For flights that require passengers to travel to the aircraft on apron buses, ground staff are always on duty to make sure they are in the safe areas.

If passengers intentionally ignore the directions and leave the safe areas, they will face an administrative fine or a flight ban depending on the severity of the violation.

Last week, the CAAV launched an investigation into a separate video in which a woman dances around and poses near a moving plane at Phu Quoc International Airport on the namesake island off southern Kien Giang Province.

Security control staff noticed her action and immediately required her to return to a safe location.

The video was still uploaded on TikTok and sparked criticism from netizens before being removed from the platform.

A CAAV representative assessed the woman’s action as disruptive, dangerous behavior, and a threat to flight safety.
