Saigon Water Corporation (Sawaco), Ho Chi Minh City’s water supplier, will cut or reduce service in some districts and wards from late Saturday night to early Sunday morning in order to carry out maintenance in Tan Hiep Water Plant.
Maintenance on the plant will take place between 10:00 pm on Saturday and 4:00 am on Sunday, during which pumps to the entirety of Binh Tan and Hoc Mon Districts will completely closes, the company said.
Meanwhile, Wards 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 in Go Vap District; Tan Thoi Nhat, Tan Hung Thuan, Dong Hung Thuan, Trung My Tay, Tan Chanh Hiep, Tan Thoi Hiep, Hiep Thanh, Thoi An, and Thanh Xuan Wards in District 12; and Tay Thanh, Son Ky, Tan Son Nhi, Tan Quy, Tan Thanh, Phu Tho Hoa, Phu Thanh, Hoa Thanh, Hiep Tan, and Tan Thoi Hoa Wards in Tan Phu District will also experience a suspension of water services.
Wards 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14 in District 6; Wards 6, 7, 13, 14, 15, and 16 in District 8; and Tan Tuc Town, Vinh Loc A, Vinh Loc B, Pham Van Hai, Binh Loi, Le Minh Xuan, Tan Kien, Tan Nhut, Binh Chanh, An Phu Tay, Tan Quy Tay, and Hung Long Communes in Binh Chanh District will also be subject to the water supply disruption.
Wards 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 in Tan Binh District and Binh Hung and Phong Phu Communes in Binh Chanh District will be affected by low-water pressure.
During the maintenance period, Sawaco will mobilize water trucks to supply water to administrative offices, hospitals, and other crucial buildings in the affected area.
After the completion of the maintenance, some areas will have their water reinstated later than 4:00 am on Sunday due to hydraulic disturbances.
Since July 2004, Tan Hiep Water Plant has been a part of the city’s water distribution network, meeting the clean water needs of thousands of people in the western and northern regions of Ho Chi Minh City.
It is the second-largest water plant after Thu Duc Water Plant.
