A company from Phu Tho Province, northern Vietnam, has been fined VND400,000 (US$17) after a circulated video showed its two female staffs taking off their bras to carry seawater at a popular beach during a team-building activity.
The incident happened at Cua Lo Beach in the namesake town, located in north-central Nghe An Province.
In the footage, two women remove their bras and use them to deliver seawater during a relay game as part of their company’s team-bulding activities, whereas other players carry seawater in T-shirts, towers, or hats.
Other vacationers in the video as well as netizens were taken aback by the act.
According to preliminary information, the women were members of a tourist group from Phu Tho Province.
Hoang Thanh Son, head of Cua Lo Town's Division of Culture and Information, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Friday that local authorities had fined the firm hosting the event at Cua Lo Beach, in accordance with Article 15 of Decree 144/2021 on administrative penalties for violations of social order and security.
“The leader of the firm that organized the beach game said that the behavior was inappropriate and disrespectful,” Son stated.
“We have requested the company to explain the incident and apologize to the public.”
