Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper organized on Tuesday the groundbreaking of the Tuoi Tre Complex in Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City, which is going to be the new home of its headquarters, press and media services, and office for lease.
The ceremony took place on the occasion of the 47th birthday of the newspaper (September 2, 1975).
The event saw the attendance of Tran Trong Dung, vice-president of the Vietnam Journalists Association, director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications Lam Dinh Thang, secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union Phan Thi Thanh Phuong, chairman of the Go Vap District People's Committee Nguyen Tri Dung, along with generations of editors-in-chief and staff members of Tuoi Tre.
The Tuoi Tre Complex will create the space for modern journalism, boost revenue, and develop a solid journalism economy so that Tuoi Tre can further develop with its own resources, Tuoi Tre Editor-in-Chief Le The Chu said at the groundbreaking ceremony.
Over the past 47 years, Tuoi Tre has not only provided readers with information but also initiated and organized many meaningful activities and events, said secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union Phuong.

Phuong believed that the Tuoi Tre Complex would meet the requirements of journalism in the digital age, create more types of communication, as well as increase revenue and improve the lives of the newspaper's employees.
She also hoped that Tuoi Tre will continue carrying out more meaningful activities for the community.

Located in Ward 6, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City, the Tuoi Tre Complex covers an area of 5,555 square meters, has 11 floors and one basement, and costs more than VND300 billion (US$12.8 million).
The facility will house multiple departments of the newspaper, its television center, media and press service center, software services and technical support, office for lease, and other services.

The project is expected to become a typical complex of a leading press agency, meeting the needs for dynamic and modern operation in the new era of journalism as well as create a green, clean, beautiful, comfortable, modern, and professional working space.
Tuoi Tre wishes that the complex will become a cultural and entertainment venue and a place for cultural and artistic activities to serve the people in the area and the city in general.
