An electric sightseeing bus ran over and killed a five-year-old girl while she was running across the street in the famous tourist destination Sa Pa Town in the northern Vietnamese province of Lao Cai on Wednesday evening.

While playing with her younger sibling on a sidewalk at around 8:30 pm on Wednesday evening, Nguyen Ngan Tr., a five-year-old resident of Phan Si Pang Ward in Sa Pa Town, ran across the street without looking just as an electric sightseeing bus was approaching.

Although the driver immediately slammed on the brakes, the bus still hit the girl, with the front wheel crushing her body.

The driver took her to the nearest hospital immediately following the collision, but she died on the way.

Police officers of Sa Pa Town are investigating the case.
