Cyclist To Hoang Khanh Lan delivered an outstanding performance to secure Vietnam’s second gold medal at the 2025 Asian Road Cycling Championships in Thailand on Wednesday.

Lan, along with teammates Hoang Thi Hang, Truong Thi Quynh, and Pham Minh Nhan, competed in the women’s master road race events.

This was the first time these athletes had had the opportunity to compete on the continental stage, yet all four cyclists delivered impressive results.

Lan stood out with a powerful sprint, securing the gold medal, while Hang, Quynh, and Nhan each won bronze medals.

This marks Vietnam’s second gold medal at the 2025 Asian Road Cycling Championships.

Earlier, on February 8, veteran Hoang Hai Nam won the gold in the men’s individual time trial for athletes over 60 years old.

The Vietnamese delegation at the 2025 Asian Road Cycling Championships includes five female cyclists, two male cyclists, and 10 young riders.

The tournament, which runs from February 7 to 16 in Thailand, features nearly 500 cyclists, including professional national teams, U23 and U18 youth teams, and senior athletes competing in the master events.

As part of the Union Cycliste Internationale’s competition system, the tournament also serves as preparation for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games.

The Vietnamese cycling team faced significant challenges during the tournament, as their bikes and equipment were destroyed in a fire

Many athletes had to use borrowed bikes from the host country or other delegations.

In recent days, additional bicycles have been sent from Vietnam to support the team.
