A heavy rain submerged some streets and neighborhoods in Da Lat, the capital city of Lam Dong Province in Vietnam’s Central Highlands, on Thursday afternoon.
The downpour started at 3:30 pm and caused Cam Ly stream to overflow, flooding nearby Phan Dinh Phung Street.
The rainwater brought along lots of red mud and domestic and agricultural waste.
The water rose too fast for residents to react, leading to the damage of household and consumer goods.
In addition, many vehicles became stuck while traveling on Phan Dinh Phung Street and were damaged.
Other streets adjacent to Cam Ly stream, including Cach Mang Thang Tam, Trang Trinh, Truong Van Hoan, Ngo Van So, and To Ngoc Van, were also flooded.
The flooding lasted about 30 minutes during the peak of the downpour.
Local people were busy recovering from the consequences of the flood until Thursday evening.
