Heavy downpours and rising water levels in local rivers resulted in serious inundation across many neighborhoods and streets in Quang Nam Province, central Vietnam on Monday.

In Duy Xuyen District, water from the Thu Bon River rose quickly and ran into nearby low-lying areas.

The situation was further exacerbated by a heavy rain.

Local authorities had to assist residents in traveling through several street sections due to severe flooding.

In Tam Ky City, multiple streets such as Hung Vuong and Phan Chau Trinh were underwater, posing difficulties for commuters.

Many sections of National Highway No. 14B and National Highway No. 14H were submerged by floodwaters as high as 1.2 meters.

The flooding in Quang Nam Province continued to worsen on Tuesday morning following a torrential rain that occurred overnight.
