Police in Thanh Hoa Province, north-central Vietnam have arrested the suspect who stole a filmmaking kit worth nearly VND200 million (US$8,000) from an Indian visitor earlier this week.
Officers in Hoang Hoa District, Thanh Hoa Province confirmed on Thursday they had apprehended Le Van Dao, 30, on theft charges.
Preliminary information showed that Kartikey KarnaTak, an Indian visitor, was waiting for a passenger bus in Hoang Quy Commune, Hoang Hoa District at around 9:30 pm on Monday.
KarnaTak then left his bag on the sidewalk and went into a nearby public restroom.
He later returned and realized that his bag was gone.

The bag contained a filmmaking kit worth nearly VND200 million, a passport, and some cash.
After the case was reported, the district police unit launched an investigation and identified Dao as the suspect.
Officers then arrested Dao and returned the belongings to the Indian visitor.
