Ho Chi Minh City’s tourist support station serves nearly 4,300 visitors in 2022

The Tourist Information and Support Station of Ho Chi Minh City received and supported nearly 4,300 visitors in 2022, with 1,800 tourists visiting the station in the fourth quarter alone, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism.
International visitors accounted for 91.8 percent, or 3,900 individuals, of the supported guests.
According to the tourism department, the majority of the visitors came from France, Germany, the U.S., India, Norway, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Poland, Russia, Australia, Denmark, Myanmar, and the Netherlands.
Their primary concerns were related to tourism products and services, attractions in the city, and information about other provinces such as Long An, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Kien Giang, Da Nang, Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, and Khanh Hoa.
The department pointed out that the number of visitors in need of information regarding tourism products and services is on the rise.
The station currently coordinates with other provinces, attractions, and local travel companies to keep up to date with the latest information regarding events or activities that might be attractive to visitors.
In addition, the station uses a 3D/360 Smart Tourism Interactive Map, which helps visitors access the actual views of the destinations they are curious about.
Regarding supporting cases related to tourist security, the Tourist Information and Support Station received and successfully assisted nine visitors who lost property or were scammed in 2022.
This year, the tourism department worked with the city’s Department of Information and Communications to launch their tourism hotline to provide information and support for domestic and foreign tourists.
With five switchboard operators per shift and working time from 7:30 am to 8:30 pm on weekdays (including holidays), the hotline receives and processes recommendations, reflections, and requests from domestic and foreign tourists.
It also coordinates with the authorities to solve tourism issues, such as property damage, threats, stalking, or the loss of identity documents.
