Lado Taxi Company in Lam Dong Province, located in Vietnam's Central Highlands, on Wednesday returned VND190 million (US$8,097) to a passenger who dropped the amount of money in a taxi.
Luu Oanh, 25, from neighboring Dak Lak Province and two of her friends on Tuesday morning took a Lado taxi driven by Nguyen Duy Phin from Ward 10 to Tran Quang Khai Street in Ward 8 in Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province.
During the trip, the cab stopped at two spots on Bui Thi Xuan and Nguyen Cong Tru Streets.
After arriving at her hotel on Tran Quang Khai Street for a while, Oanh found she had lost the amount of money she kept in her coat’s pocket.
Oanh contacted the taxi company for help.
At the same time, driver Phin also reported to the company that he had found the money left in his cab.
According to Phin, after dropping off the passengers on Tran Quang Khai Street, he continued to receive another group of seven.
While arranging seats for the group, Phin found a plastic bag containing four bundles of VND500,000 banknotes.
As Phin could not determine whose money was, he decided to report it to the company.
