-- An unusual rain accompanied by strong winds hit Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces on Tuesday evening due to the influence of a cold spell in northern Vietnam, according to Le Dinh Quyet, an official from the southern hydro-meteorological station.

-- A total of 107 crashes occurred throughout Vietnam during the first five days of this year’s Lunar New Year holiday (January 20 to 24), killing 62 people and injuring 77 others, the Ministry of Public Security reported.

-- Statistics from the Ministry of Health showed that nearly 49,000 people were admitted to healthcare facilities in Vietnam from Sunday to Tuesday, the first three days of the 2023 lunar calendar.

-- Temperatures in northern Vietnam are forecast to plummet on Wednesday due to the effect of a cold spell, while unseasonal rains may dampen southern provinces in the afternoon and evening.
