A Taiwanese citizen passed away a few days after she underwent plastic surgery at a Ho Chi Minh City cosmetology hospital early this month, according to the municipal health authority.

The Inspectorate of the city’s Department of Health said on Tuesday that it had teamed up with police in the city and neighboring Dong Nai Province to clarify the case linked to this Taiwanese’s death.

The victim, named L.S.B., came to Korean Star-Sao Han, a cosmetology hospital located on Le Hong Phong Street in Ward 12, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City on April 1 for a medical check before undergoing plastic surgery there the following day, according to the preliminary investigation results.

The 45-year-old Taiwanese was discharged from the hospital on April 3 and returned home in Dong Nai.

On April 7, she suffered shortness of breath and was unable to speak, but she remained conscious.

She was rushed to Thong Nhat General Hospital in Dong Nai’s Bien Hoa City for emergency treatment.

The woman was pronounced dead on April 9.

On April 12, the Health Department of Ho Chi Minh City reported this case to the Ministry of Health.
