Police in Hiep Hoa District, northern Bac Giang Province have initiated legal proceedings against 15 teenage boys for chasing other teenagers and throwing empty glass beer bottles at them, causing public disorder.
They were charged with intentionally causing injury to other people and public disorder.
On February 14, the 15 teenage boys with the youngest being only 16 years old gathered in Thang Town of Hiep Hoa District and got involved in a confrontation with another group of youngsters.
The teenage boys later rode 10 motorcycles and brought empty glass beer bottles to a National Highway 37 section in Hiep Hoa District.
They bumped into B.T.T., a 16-year-old resident of Doan Bai Commune, Hiep Hoa District, and his three friends running in the opposite direction.
Believing that T. and his three friends were among the youngsters involved in the fight with them earlier, Nguyen Manh C. and Dang Chi N. threw empty beer bottles at the four, breaking down T.’s jaw bone on the left.
T. ran away but the boy group led by Nguyen Manh C. chased him at a high speed while repeatedly beeping motorcycles' horns and shouting on the road.
After chasing T. for 2.5 kilometers, C. lost track of T., so his group dispersed and went home.
The case is under further investigation.
The Hiep Hoa District Police said they would enhance patrols to detect and impose sanctions on crimes.
They would pay much attention to teenagers and students deliberately causing injury to others and social disorder.
