The Marine Services Joint Stock Company, operating under the Saigon Tan Cang Corporation, is providing assistance to a Panamanian vessel that ran aground in the waters of Binh Thuan Province in south-central Vietnam.
Bulk carrier Nemrut Bay became grounded on Britto shoal, located approximately 10 nautical miles southeast of the Binh Thuan coast, on June 21.
The vessel was en route from the Philippines to its destination port of Vung Tau City in the southern Vietnamese province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau when the incident occurred.
The vessel Nemrut Bay, with a tonnage of 34,431 metric tons and measuring 177.97 meters in length and 30 meters in width, is transporting 25,510 metric tons of steel and containing approximately 852 metric tons of oil fuel.

The incident imposed a risk of oil spillage into the sea, prompting rescue measures, which were then assigned to the Marine Services Joint Stock Company, renowned for its extensive fleet dedicated to rescue operations.
The mission commenced at 7:00 pm on July 8.
On Monday, the company’s specialized fleet consisting of four tugboats and one cargo ship for unloading approached the stranded vessel.
The rescue teams have taken measures to deploy buoys in order to prevent oil spills, and the tugboats have provided towing assistance to maintain a steady course for the cargo transfer.
The rescue operation is expected to run about four days.
