A fire swept through a house, in which the owner ran a footwear and bags business, in Hoa Binh Province, northern Vietnam on Saturday, leaving two dead and four others injured, confirmed a local official.
The fire broke out at around 3:30 am the same day in the third floor of the three-story house on Lac Long Quan Street, Tan Thinh Ward, Hoa Binh City, a local official told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Saturday morning.
At the time of the incident, there were six people trapped inside the house, owned by Dao Duy Tu, 38, and his wife Nguyen Thi N., 40.
Forty firefighters, along with four fire trucks, one rescue vehicle, and one ambulance were dispatched to the scene.
They broke a window on the third floor to rescue one kid before approaching the house through the staircase to free three others and rushed these four to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
The fire was put out at some 5:30 am, by which the rescue forces discovered two persons were killed in a third-floor bedroom and took their bodies out.
The deceased, identified as Dao Anh T., 14 and Dao Anh C., 12, are children of the homeowner.
A local inhabitant said that the house had no emergency exits, thus leaving the occupants trapped inside when the fire broke out.
Bui Quang Diep, chairman of the Hoa Binh City administration, said he was directing local competent forces to cope with the aftermath of the incident.
