-- The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has suggested the State Audit of Vietnam impose sanctions on Phu My Construction Investment Corporation, the investor of a VND1.3 trillion (US$55 million) road project leading to the Phu My Bridge, as the company failed to submit VND342.7 billion ($14.5 million) as illegal payments to the city’s budget although the city has asked the company to pay the amount 10 times.
-- Inspectors of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum have found that the People’s Committee of Kon Plong District in the province handed over land lots to 151 households and individuals between 2002 and 2022 without collecting land use fees.
-- Nearly 2,000 children die from drowning in Vietnam per year and drowning is one of the leading causes of death for children in the country, an official from the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs said on Saturday.

-- The Ministry of Transport on Saturday began work on a project carrying a price tag of VND1.85 trillion ($781.9 million) to build a bridge and a railway bridge spanning the Duong River in Hanoi to replace the deteriorating Duong Bridge.
-- Vietnamese people’s average income reached VND7 million ($295.9) per month in the first half of this year, up VND497,000 ($21) year on year, according to the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs.
Sports
-- Sports app Sofascore gave Vietnamese keeper Tran Thi Kim Thanh 7.8 out of 10 points although Vietnam lost 0-3 to the reigning U.S. champions in its first match on Saturday at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup. She got the fifth-highest point among players of the match as she blocked the U.S.’s five shots on target, including a penalty kick.
