-- Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his spouse will visit Vietnam on Sunday at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Wednesday.

-- Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen on Wednesday hosted a reception for Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, who is paying a visit to Ho Chi Minh City.

-- Australian Foreign Minister Wong had a meeting with students at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday afternoon to table climate change, sustainability, and educational growth.

-- A three-day state funeral for Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh, who passed away at the age of 61 at his house in northern Hai Phong City on Tuesday, will begin on Thursday, with a ceremony to pay respects set to start at 9:00 am at the Hai Phong City Convention Center.


-- The TEDI SOUTH - CCTDI consultant consortium has proposed widening Saigon Railway Station in District 3 under Ho Chi Minh City to 6.68 hectares from the current six hectares in an attempt to turn it into a railway station complex which will also comprise a 2.3-hectare square, a bus station, a taxi stand, and a parking lot.

-- Investigators in Ha Dong District under the capital city of Hanoi have arrested Tran Lam Thang, a 24-year-old swimming teacher at Vietnam International School, and filed charges against him for his lack of responsibility, leading to the drowning of a ninth grader. A 15-year-old boy, who lived in Nam Tu Liem District, was found dead in the swimming pool of the school on Tuesday.

-- Hanoi will ban all cars from traveling on the upper deck of the double-decked Thang Long Bridge from 0:00 to 4:00 each day between Saturday and Monday for a load test, according to an announcement released by the municipal Department of Transport on Wednesday night.


-- Thousands of customers, with many of them coming from China, South Korea, India, and Japan, are sounding out cooperation and investment opportunities in the seafood industry at the ongoing Vietnam Fisheries International Exhibition, which opened in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday, and is set to wrap up on Friday.


-- Vietnamese weightlifter Le Van Cong won a gold medal in the 49kg weight category for men on Wednesday at the ongoing 2023 World Para Powerlifting Championships held in Saudi Arabia.
