A man died after being struck by a train which stopped right after the accident, causing a blockage on Nguyen Van Troi Street in Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City on Monday evening.

A traffic police officer of the district said on Monday night that police officers were working with relevant agencies to investigate the cause of the deadly incident. 

Investigation results showed that the accident occurred at 6:00 pm on the same day.

When train SE7 departing from Hanoi to the Saigon Railway Station in Ho Chi Minh City was traveling near the intersection with Nguyen Van Troi Street, it hit a man, leading to his death on the spot. 

The train driver quickly made a stop on Nguyen Van Troi Street after the incident, resulting in traffic congestion during rush hour.

The deceased was identified as P.P.D., a 36-year-old- resident of Binh Thanh District.

After police approached the scene to investigate the cause of the fatal incident, the train continued to the station to ease the traffic jam.
