Police in Thanh Hoa Province, located in north-central Vietnam, have detained and filed charges against Le Thi Hong Van, a 39-year-old resident of Thanh Hoa City, for falsifying documents and arranging for 30 foreigners to illegally stay in Vietnam.
Hong Van directed her subordinates, Do Thi Van, 31, and Pham Thi Hien, 34, to use a graphics editor app and PDF file split and merge software to counterfeit 65 documents of authorities and organizations for 30 foreigners to stay and work in Vietnam from May 2021 to March 2023, police officers said on Wednesday.
Her two subordinates are banned from leaving their residences for an investigation into document fabrication.
Preliminary investigation results showed that Hong Van had earlier established two companies and borrowed the legal entity of two others to do such illegal behavior, said police officers.
These businesses are PPV Investment and Development of Education Company, Apple International Education Company, Global Education and Media JSC, and Hoang Ha Training and Consulting Company.
Police are expanding the probe into the case.
