Police in Ho Chi Minh City detained three young men for allegedly causing public disorder after the trio did a wheelie on a motorcycle on the roof of Thu Thiem Tunnel and posted a clip showing off their reckless riding on social media.
They were identified as Duong Quoc Cuong, a 32-year-old native of southern Binh Duong Province whose Facebook account is ‘Cường Hạo Thiên’ and YouTube channel is ‘Cường Vlog’; Hoang Anh Trung, 20, from southern Dong Nai Province; and Nguyen Thanh Xuan Truong, 23, from Ho Chi Minh City, a source said on Tuesday.
The Facebook account ‘Cường Hạo Thiên’ was found to have featured many video clips showing three young men wearing no helmets while performing dangerous stunts on a motorcycle, such as doing a wheelie, riding the bike with no hands, and riding on one wheel.
The trio also posted on their Facebook accounts a clip showing three men traveling on one motorcycle and performing a wheelie along Tran Bach Dang Street on the roof of the Thu Thiem Tunnel, located in Thu Duc City under Ho Chi Minh City, with the rider identified as Cuong. The clip went viral and received mixed reactions from netizens.
These clips of the trio performing these stunts attracted tens of thousands of likes, shares, and comments.
On Sunday this week, another video that made its rounds on social media and provoked public concerns showed a young man doing a wheelie on a red scooter while carrying a young woman sitting back to back on the roof of the Thu Thiem Tunnel.
The nearly-one-minute video, which was believed to be recorded a while ago, displays the biker doing a wheelie for a long distance.
The young woman put her hands behind her back to hug the biker’s belly to avoid falling, while another person used a phone to film their act.
The road section featured in the video is part of Tran Bach Dang Street in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area in Thu Thiem Ward, Thu Duc City.
The rider was also identified as Cuong.
