A 70-year-old Australian of Vietnamese origin was found dead near a stream in a local forest in Lam Dong Province, located in Vietnam’s Central Highlands, on Friday.

Authorities in Lam Dong conducted an autopsy on the body of the tourist a day later.

On Friday night, residents in Bao Lam District discovered the dead body of a man near the stream in Loc Tan Commune, and reported the case to police.

The deceased was identified as L.A.T. Samuel, who lived in Australia and was visiting his relatives in the province's Bao Loc City.

Before his death, he stayed at a hotel in the city.

Local police officers are investigating the cause of the Australian tourist’ death.
