-- Vietnam's Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his spouse Le Thi Bich Tran, and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived at Melbourne Airport in Australia on Monday night (local time), starting their trip to attend the 2024 ASEAN - Australia Special Summit and visit the Oceanian country.

-- Authorities in Dong Nai Province, southern Vietnam have approved a plan to convert Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park, Vietnam’s oldest industrial park, into an urban, trade, and service area. The province will relocate enterprises out of the industrial park before December 2025, a local official said on Monday.

-- Police in Binh Thuan Province, south-central Vietnam said on Monday that they had summoned a group of teenagers who traveled on motorbikes without wearing helmets, one of them attempting to slash a car with a scimitar on Sunday.

-- “The streets of Vietnam's capital city Hanoi were enveloped in thick smog on Monday which dramatically reduced visibility due to air pollution caused by high levels of particulates from vehicle emissions and construction-linked fine dust,” Reuters reported.

-- The Department of Construction in Vietnam’s Central Highlands province of Lam Dong will dismantle an illegally-built golf club project on Cu Hill in Da Lat, a renowned tourist city in the province, if the investor fails to get a construction license for the project within 90 days from January 4, the department announced on Monday. 

-- The administration in Dong Nai Province has ordered the organization of an international contest for the planning of the Long Thanh airport urban area to exploit the potential of the under-construction mammoth airport and adjacent areas. The contest offers one first prize valued at VND2 billion (US$81,091), one second prize at VND1 billion ($40,545), and one third prize at VND500 million ($20,249).

-- At least five people died and five others were hospitalized after a collision between a passenger bus and a container truck in Tuyen Quang Province, northern Vietnam in the early hours of Tuesday, according to the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public and Security.

-- A drone light show with hundreds of drones will light up the sky over West Lake in Hanoi this weekend, aiming to attract more tourists to the lake area.
