The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the New Energy Nexus Vietnam through the DFAT's Business Partnership Platform Program (BPP) are calling on registration for a business accelerator program for women-oriented agricultural enterprises.

The program, Deltaccelerate, aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises in addressing climate change adaptation in the Mekong Delta.

It provides direct training support tailored to business needs and expands networking opportunities for 16 businesses contributing to building resilience to climate change adaptation in the Mekong Delta.

In addition, up to eight selected businesses that complete the first phase of the program will have the opportunity to expand their operations through grants ranging from AUD10,000 (US$6,562) to AUD100,000 ($65,620).

Businesses operating in the Mekong Delta's agricultural sector, which are led by or significantly benefit women and contribute to the sector's resilience to climate change adaptation, are invited to register to participate.

Deltaccelerate is implemented through cooperation between DFAT and the New Energy Nexus Vietnam in climate change adaptation partnerships in the Mekong Delta, as announced in November 2023.

According to Economic Consul at the Australian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City Dominic Balasuriya, Deltaccelerate is Vietnam's first accelerator program for women-oriented agricultural businesses addressing the challenge of climate change adaptation in the Mekong Delta.

“This initiative, along with all BPP Climate Adaptation partners, demonstrates Australia's steadfast commitment to working with Vietnam to address the challenges of climate change,” he was quoted as stating in a press release on the program.

"Women are one of the groups most affected by climate change and play an important role in addressing climate challenges,” program manager at New Energy Nexus Vietnam Huynh Hoang To Trinh said.

“I look forward to more solutions from women-oriented businesses for adapting to climate change.

“We always encourage and look forward to more businesses registering for and joining our program.”

The Deltaccelerate program is expected to begin in April and end in September 2025.
