-- A group of domestic and international experts, students, and representatives from tourism businesses on Tuesday explored new destinations in Da Lat, a popular tourist attraction in Vietnam’s Central Highlands region. The visit was intended to highlight the city’s latest tourism offerings, developed to attract visitors, especially during the year-end season.

-- Ho Chi Minh City has received 150 electric buses used to connect key locations with the city’s metro line No. 1, which is set to begin commercial operations on December 22, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.

-- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has approved an adjustment to the timeline for the Nam Thang Long - Tran Hung Dao metro project in Hanoi, with completion now set for 2029 and construction expected to begin in 2025. The line was approved in 2008 and was initially slated for completion in 2015.

-- Vietnam on Tuesday established its steering committee for anti-wastefulness headed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, with the Ministry of Finance serving as the standing agency. The committee focuses on proposing solutions, coordinating interagency efforts, and ensuring efficient use of national resources.

-- A 39-year-old tractor-trailer driver, hailing from southern Dong Thap Province, was fatally struck by a reversing forklift while inspecting the rear of his vehicle at Phuoc Long ICD Port in Thu Duc City under Ho Chi Minh City late on Tuesday afternoon.

-- Police in Kien Giang Province, southern Vietnam confirmed on Tuesday that they had apprehended a 45-year-old local man for smuggling 1,490 packs of foreign cigarettes while posing as a delivery worker.

-- Data from the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control revealed that the city reported 373 measles cases between December 9 and 15, marking a 29-percent increase compared to the average of the previous four weeks.
