Nineteen dogs and many belongings owned by a woman who leased an apartment in Ho Chi Minh City were forced to be left outside all night on Tuesday following the woman’s conflict with the owner of the apartment over her ownership of the dogs.
On Wednesday, videos showing the dogs and belongings in the yard of the River Panorama Apartment Building in Phu Thuan Ward, District 7 surfaced on social media.
Some residents in the apartment building said that neighbors had lodged complaints regarding noise stemming from the 19 dogs residing in the flat.
Her dogs and belongings were moved to the apartment building’s yard on Tuesday afternoon where they stayed that night.
Minh Xu, a 36-year-old resident, recounted seeing the dogs on Tuesday night and expressed sympathy for their situation. He mentioned that residents collectively cared for and fed the dogs.
Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper found that the woman, N.P., 35, leased an apartment in River Panorama three months ago.
She told Tuoi Tre that the apartment owner had complained about noise from the dogs and had asked her to remove them from the building.

Eventually, the owner chose to unilaterally terminate the lease and remove the dogs and the woman’s belongings from the apartment, P. said.
She added that she had asked the building’s management board for more time for relocation, but the board asked her to make a commitment and said that if a dog barked, they would cut the water supply.
She claimed that she returned to the apartment building on Wednesday morning to get her belongings and seek shelter for the 19 dogs.
On Wednesday afternoon, a pet care unit took the canines to Thu Duc City, also in Ho Chi Minh City, for temporary care.
“I have asked the unit to help me take care of the dogs for a week before I pick them up,” N.P. noted.
The management board of the River Panorama Apartment Building verified the incident, stating that an official announcement would follow. Authorities from the Phu Thuan Ward administration in District 7 confirmed the case and have deployed officials to conduct an investigation.
