Police returned two 15-year-old boys to their parents on Sunday afternoon after the teengers got lost and cycled nearly 500km away from their home in Lai Chau Province, northern Vietnam 21 days earlier.

The boys, namely S.A.L. and L.A.C., are residents of Dao San Commune, Phong Tho District, Lai Chau Province.

Earlier, the boys were found hungry and thirsty while they were cycling along National Highway No. 6, which links Hanoi with Hoa Binh, Son La, and Dien Bien Provinces, on Thursday last week.

The people who spotted the teenagers on the road gave the duo baths, haircuts, and new clothes before reporting their case of getting lost to a police agency in Mai Chau District, Hoa Binh Province, northern Vietnam.

The boys were then brought to the police agency where officers took care of them and located their parents.

As a result, officers of Mai Chau and Dao San teamed up to take the boys home on Sunday afternoon.

Their parents, who are living and working in Dao San, said that the boys had left home on March 29.
