-- Residents of Ubon Ratchathani and Sakon Nakhon Provinces in northeastern Thailand on Sunday experienced tremors from magnitude-5 and -4.1 earthquakes that struck Kon Plong District in Kon Tum Province, Vietnam, located approximately 360km and 530km to their southeast, respectively.

-- From noon to 8:00 pm on Sunday, Kon Plong District in Kon Tum Province experienced 13 additional minor earthquakes, according to the Institute of Geophysics.

-- Due to continuous heavy rains in the upstream areas, the water levels of the Dong Nai and La Nga Rivers are high, prompting the Southern Hydrometeorological Station to warn of a potential flooding risk in these rivers.

-- Vietnam has recorded 41,905 cases of dengue fever and five deaths since the beginning of the year, marking a 1.2-fold decrease in cases and six fewer deaths compared to the same period in 2023, although the case count is showing signs of increasing, according to the Ministry of Health.

-- A pickup truck crossed the tracks despite closed barriers and an approaching train, leading to the deaths of two people and injuries to three others in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province, southern Vietnam, on Sunday night.

-- Forty-eight tourists had been hospitalized with suspected food poisoning as of Sunday morning after attending a buffet at a resort in Mui Ne Ward, Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province, south-central Vietnam.

-- Last weekend, a 20-meter-long crack appeared on the newly revamped road surface of Prenn Pass in Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province, Central Highlands, following prolonged rain. The crack continues to spread.

-- State-owned lender Vietcombank has appointed Nguyen Thanh Tung as chairman of the board of directors for the 2023-28 term.

-- The People’s Committee of Cam Ranh City in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam held a press conference on Sunday to announce the 2024 Lobster Festival, scheduled to take place from August 3 to 11, featuring 120 lobster-based dishes for the first time.
