-- South Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Choi Youngsam expressed his country’s desire to develop a nuclear power plant in Vietnam during a meeting with State President To Lam on Friday.
-- State President To Lam also met with Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam Shawn Steil on the same day.
-- During a meeting with Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Phan Van Mai on Friday, Lee Ka-Chiu, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, expressed his hope to strengthen cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City in various fields and offered to share expertise in developing an international financial center.

-- According to the Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security, as of Friday, over 1.18 million vehicle number plates had been made available for auction. Of these, 32,151 plates were successfully auctioned, generating more than VND2.7 trillion (US$107 million) in payments for the state budget.
-- The management board of Hon Cau Marine Protected Area in Tuy Phong District, Binh Thuan Province, south-central Vietnam, announced that its patrol team recently discovered a sea turtle egg nest, possibly from the rare hawksbill turtle, marking the first sighting of this species laying eggs in the area in two years.
-- A car caught fire while traveling through the Thu Thiem Tunnel from District 1 to Thu Duc City in Ho Chi Minh City leading to a temporary closure of the tunnel for about an hour and causing traffic jams in the area on Friday evening.
