Liz Mitchell from renowned disco band Boney M, Austrian band Joy, and English pop singer Samantha Fox excited over 18,000 spectators during the Dalat Spring Concert 2024 held at Lam Vien Square in Da Lat City, a popular tourist site in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on Saturday night.
These music legends’ performances warmed the audience up, regardless of the cold temperature at 13 degrees Celsius.
The Dalat Spring Concert is the first annual international music project in Da Lat that follows international standards.
The event was co-organized by the Lam Dong People’s Committee and IB Group Vietnam.

Before the concert began at 7:30 pm, the grandstand capable of over 18,000 seats was full of residents and tourists.
The concert, which was opened to the public for free, treated the audience to the great performances of the international music stars.
The event covered 15 songs performed by Samantha Fox, Joy and Boney M’s Liz Mitchell from the 1970s and 1980s.
The stage resounded with their hits such as Daddy Cool, Feliz Navidad, Touch by Touch, Touch Me, and Rivers of Babylon.
Particularly, Joy debuted a song, named Co Gai Viet Nam - Vietnamese Girl, at the concert.

“I was thrilled when I heard that Boney M would be performing at the concert,” said Huynh Quoc Dat, a resident of Da Lat City.
“I arrived at the square early tonight to make sure I didn’t miss the show.
“The band’s songs were hugely popular during my youth, and their familiar melodies have stayed with me over the years.
“Despite the chilly 13-degree Celsius weather in Da Lat, thousands of spectators have gathered, filled with excitement for the festive atmosphere.
“What a fantastic concert!"
Tran Binh Minh, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, shared that she and her family traveled to Da Lat specifically to attend the concert.
“I’m deeply moved by these nostalgic songs performed by such legendary musicians,” she said.
The concert was aimed at introducing Da Lat as a global creative city for music, moving toward turning the city into an international music destination.
In late October last year, Da Lat was named among new global creative cities by UNESCO.
At the end of the concert, Liz Mitchell, on behalf of the performers, presented two guitars to the city.
