-- The Party and State leaders of Cuba, North Korea, Japan, Belarus, Russia, France, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico sent congratulations to State President To Lam on his election as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

-- The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel on Sunday reiterated its recommendations for the Vietnamese community to ensure their safety and security amidst the escalating tensions between Israel and the Hamas and Hezbollah forces.

-- Since the start of this year, natural disasters have led to 104 fatalities and missing persons, primarily due to landslides and floods, with damage estimated at VND2 trillion (US$79.3 million).

-- Son La Province in northern Vietnam is currently developing a plan to submit to the prime minister and ministries for the construction of flood drainage tunnels aimed at preventing flooding in Son La City.

-- The People’s Committee of Long An on Sunday announced the results of a project investigating soil pollution in the Mekong Delta province. Notably, 31 out of 812 soil samples, or 3.82 percent, were found to be contaminated, with 21 of these by cadmium.

-- Data from WiGroup Corporation, a data solution provider, reveals that the bad debt ratio for listed banks in Vietnam stood at 2.22 percent at the end of the second quarter of 2024.
