-- Vietnamese Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, his spouse, and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Beijing on Sunday evening and met with its staff, representatives of the Vietnamese community, and Vietnamese students in China.

-- According to the Ministry of Health, Vietnam has reported over 3,000 new cases of dengue fever in the past week, bringing the total for the year to 52,957 cases, including six deaths. Compared to the same period in 2023, the number of cases has decreased by 15 percent and the number of deaths has dropped by 10.

-- A five-seater car was traveling on Provincial Road 176 in Ha Giang Province, northern Vietnam when it suddenly plunged into a deep abyss and caught fire, resulting in one death and another person suffering serious burns on Sunday.

-- Vietnam’s Level 2 Field Hospital No. 5 announced on Sunday that it has given health checkups to 30 Ghanaian female police officers currently participating in a United Nations peacekeeping mission in South Sudan.

-- Starbucks Vietnam has announced the closure of its only Starbucks Reserve store in Ho Chi Minh City on Han Thuyen Street in District 1, effective August 26. This store, known for its more premium and immersive coffee experience compared to regular Starbucks stores, will soon reopen at a new location.

-- The National Innovation Center has recently awarded semiconductor engineering certificates to 67 chip design engineers. Of these, approximately 20 have secured internships or job offers with leading technology companies worldwide.

-- According to travel agencies, many tours to mainland China, South Korea, and Taiwan during the upcoming National Day (September 2) holiday, which coincides with the beginning of autumn in Northeast Asia, have been fully booked since the end of July, as Vietnamese tourists are eager to experience the vibrant autumn foliage and cool weather in these destinations.
