The transport authority of Ho Chi Minh City has banned all vehicles from entering Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street in District 1 on Friday for the 'Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City' event, commemorating the 70th anniversary of Hanoi's liberation on October 10, 1954.

The municipal Department of Transport elaborated that the ban is aimed at ensuring traffic safety during the event.

The following alternative routes were recommended:

Route 1: Le Thanh Ton Street → Dong Khoi Street → Ton Duc Thang Street

Route 2: Ton Duc Thang Street → Ham Nghi Street → Pasteur Street → Le Thanh Ton Street

The transport department also asked units in charge of implementing road and sidewalk renovation projects citywide to temporarily suspend work on September 1 and 2.

Road project developers have also been tasked with expediting and completing work on their projects prior to September 1.

For projects with construction barricades allowed to occupy the roadway, project developers are asked to keep construction sites clean and tidy.
