-- The Thu Duc market area, a flood-prone zone in Thu Duc City under Ho Chi Minh City, was heavily inundated again after downpours on Sunday afternoon.

-- Authorities in Nha Trang City, the capital of Khanh Hoa Province in south-central Vietnam, are urgently investigating the case of a man who is suspected to have fallen to his death from a high floor of a tourist apartment building on To Hien Thanh Street in Tan Lap Ward on Sunday night.

-- On Sunday, the second day of the four-day National Day (September 2) holiday, police nationwide recorded over 15,200 traffic violations. Among these, 4,049 drivers were found driving under the influence, a significant increase from 2,572 cases on the first day.

-- According to the latest data from the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control on Sunday evening, 74 percent of the 432 measles cases reported in the city from May 23 to August 27 were in children under five years old. Additionally, 71 percent of these children had not been vaccinated against the illness despite being of eligible age for the vaccine.

-- Many tourists have reported stepping in engine oil on the sand after swimming at several beaches in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province.

-- During a field trip in Da Nang City on Sunday, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh endorsed the policy of reclaiming land from the sea to create new land resources for the construction of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone.

-- Shopping malls in Hanoi are packed with shoppers during the ongoing National Day (September 2) holiday.

-- Twenty-eight international delegations have confirmed their attendance at the Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum 2024, scheduled for September 24 to 26.

-- Google features an image of a flying Vietnamese national flag as part of its efforts to honor Vietnam’s National Day (September 2).

Sports

-- On Sunday, Vietnamese swimmers Le Tien Dat and Do Thanh Hai qualified for the final of the 100m breaststroke SB5 category at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. Despite their efforts in the final, they were unable to secure a medal.
