Ho Chi Minh City has received 150 electric buses used to connect key locations with the city’s metro line No. 1, which is set to begin commercial operations on December 22, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.
These feeder buses came from a factory in Thua Thien-Hue Province, central Vietnam.
They feature a distinctive green-and-yellow color scheme for easy identification, with LED-lit route numbers for enhanced visibility.
A representative of the Public Transportation Management Center under the municipal Department of Transport on Tuesday visited two locations where these e-buses are parked in Thu Duc City to oversee the preparation for their operation.
The two locations are equipped with two charging systems, with a capacity of 180 kW and 240 kW.
The parking lot, located on National Highway 13, accommodates some 100 feeder buses and features 15 charging points, with each allowing two buses to be charged at the same time.
Meanwhile, the rest are parked at a site on Hanoi Highway, with eight charging points installed.
