Police in Quang Binh Province, north-central Vietnam said on Sunday that they had caught two men armed with a pistol and seven bullets transporting 24 kilograms of amphetamine and two kilograms of ketamine from Laos to Vietnam.
The two suspects are Nguyen Xuan Huyen and Tran Dinh Mao, both Quang Binh residents.
The men used social media platforms, such as Facebook, Zalo, Telegram, and WhatsApp, to build connections in Laos, then purchased and transported drugs to Vietnam for distribution to many localities across the country.
On Friday last week, police officers in Quang Binh arrested Huyen and Mao after detecting them using a car to transport drugs.
The men confessed that after receiving the drugs, they packed them into two containers and carried them to Quang Binh.
