Typhoon Toraji, the eighth storm to hit the East Vietnam Sea this year, has continued to weaken, sustaining wind speeds of 62-88 kph as of Wednesday morning, while two other storms, Usagi and Man-yi, are active near the Philippines, with one potentially moving toward the East Vietnam Sea.

By 10:00 am, Typhoon Toraji was centered in the northeastern waters of the northern East Vietnam Sea and moving west-northwest at 10-15 kph, with maximum sustained winds of 62-88 kph, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

It is expected to continue moving west-northwest at around 15 kph and weaken further during Wednesday.

By 10:00 am on Friday, forecasters predicted it will turn west-southwest, decreasing to a tropical depression northwest of the northern East Vietnam Sea.

The storm is anticipated to travel south-southwest at 5-10 kph and diminish into a low-pressure area northwest of the sea by Saturday morning.

Vessels operating in the northern part of the sea should stay vigilant for potential thunderstorms, strong winds, and high seas due to typhoon Toraji's impact.

As for the two active storms in the Philippine waters, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) is predicting that Man-yi could intensify before making landfall in the Philippines, reporting it could primarily move west-northwest over the next few days, heading toward the island of Luzon.

After this, Man-yi may enter the East Vietnam Sea around November 18, becoming the ninth storm to hit this maritime area this year.

Meanwhile, tropical storm Usagi is expected to move toward the northeastern waters of Luzon, intensifying to level 13 before veering away from the East Vietnam Sea and gradually weakening.

Previously, the national weather agency of Vietnam said a new storm could form over the East Vietnam Sea following typhoon Toraji's arrival.
