Nearly 150 sets of human remains were uncovered during drainage system renovations beneath an alley in downtown Hanoi, a local official told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Thursday.
Workers involved in the drainage system renovation found the remains burried nearly a meter below the surface of Alley 167 on Tay Son Street in Dong Da District, according to a leader of the administration of Quang Trung Ward in Dong Da District.

The leader reported that they had contacted Phung Hung Mortuary to transport the remains to Yen Ky Cemetery in Hanoi for reburial.
This is not the first time human remains have been found in the area.
Several sets of remains have been discovered during infrastructure and housing construction projects there, the leader noted, adding that the exact time of burial remains unknown.
