It is forecasted that a strong cold air mass will affect the north of Vietnam by the middle of next week, bringing colder weather and scattered rain.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, this cold front is expected to reach the north around December 5-6.
From December 6, the cold front will bring lower temperatures and rain to the northern region.
Areas from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai Provinces are expected to experience rain and showers, with some places seeing heavy rainfall.
Before the cold front arrives, the weather in the north will remain warm and sunny during the day, with midday temperatures ranging from 25-26 degrees Celsius, rising to 27-28 degrees Celsius later in the day.
However, nights and early mornings will be cooler, with temperatures dropping to 16-17 degrees Celsius, then rising to 20-22 degrees Celsius by morning.
Scattered fog and light mist are expected in the early hours.
Rain is also forecasted for the region from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai Provinces.
In the south-central, Central Highlands, and southern regions, scattered thunderstorms are expected in the late afternoon and evening, with some areas experiencing heavy rainfall.
From Friday evening to Saturday, strong winds and waves are expected in many sea areas.
All vessels operating in the East Vietnam Sea are at high risk of being affected by strong winds, whirlwinds, and large waves.
