-- New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon arrived in Hanoi on Tuesday evening to begin his official visit to Vietnam and participate in the second ASEAN Future Forum from Tuesday to Friday at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh.

-- Timor-Leste President José Ramos-Horta expressed appreciation for Vietnam’s valuable experience in economic development and integration and sought continued support in human resource development, food security, and poverty reduction while meeting with Party General Secretary To Lam in Hanoi on Tuesday during the former’s visit to Vietnam to attend the second ASEAN Future Forum.

-- Ho Chi Minh City hosted a ceremony commemorating the 75th anniversary of Vietnam-Russia diplomatic relations on Tuesday, with the participation of Vo Van Hoan, vice-chairman of the municipal People's Committee, and Russian Consul General Sadykov Timur Sirozhevich.

-- Frederick W. Smith, founder and executive chairman of U.S.-based delivery giant FedEx, expressed his desire to expand the company’s presence in Vietnam, including continued operations at Tan Son Nhat and Noi Bai International Airports and potential future investments in Long Thanh and Gia Binh Airports, during his meeting with Party General Secretary To Lam in Hanoi on Tuesday.

-- Authorities in Quang Ngai and Kon Tum Provinces have proposed the construction of a 136km expressway connecting the two provinces and funded through public investment, at an estimated cost of VND35.395 trillion (US$1.4 billion).

-- The Border Guard Command in Hue City, central Vietnam confirmed on Tuesday that its forces, along with environmental agencies, are rushing to clean up tens of metric tons of crude oil clumps that have washed ashore Lang Co Beach.

-- Health experts anticipated that a dengue outbreak in Ho Chi Minh City this year could start earlier than in 2024 due to a significant surge in infections. During the first seven weeks of 2025, the city has recorded 3,431 cases of dengue fever, marking a 125-percent year-on-year increase and a 49-percent rise compared to the 2022–24 average, according to data from the city’s Center for Disease Control.

-- Police in Kien Giang Province, southern Vietnam announced on Tuesday that they had arrested 30-year-old Mac Hoang Giang on charges of murder and 27-year-old Do Van Ngo for failing to report a crime, following the brutal killing of a two-year-old girl that has shocked the community.
