Ho Chi Minh City hosts event to promote Vietnam’s inaugural F1 race in Hanoi

A lead-up event to promote the Formula 1 VinFast Vietnam Grand Prix 2020, the inaugural F1 race in the Southeast Asian country that is scheduled for April in Hanoi, took place in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday.
Formula One announced its debut in Vietnam for the third round of the 22-race 2020 FIA Formula 1 World Championship last August.
A 5.607km, 23-turn state-of-the-art Grand Prix track has been since built on an area of 88 hectares in Nam Tu Liem District of the Vietnamese capital.
In the lead-up to the race, which will run on April 3-5, Vietnam’s private conglomerate Vingroup held a day-long event at the 14-hectare outdoor park of its Vinhomes Central Park urban area in Binh Thanh District on Sunday to recreate the exciting atmosphere of a F1 fest.
Visitors to the event were treated to a feast of entertainment, visual experiences of an F1 race, race-themed activities, and performances by leading Vietnamese singers, rappers, and DJs.
