The verified Facebook page of Chelsea FC’s former defender Branislav Ivanovic has been compromised to post content in Vietnamese.

The Vietnamese content started to regularly appear on the page from early Thursday afternoon.

A status update in Vietnamese putting the page up for sale was posted later on the same day.

“Leave a message in my inbox if you want to buy this page,” reads the status, which was deleted from the page as of Friday afternoon.

The account’s timeline shows that strange behaviors began as early as July 10, when its profile picture was changed into a photo of South Korean girl group Red Velvet’s leader Irene.

The incident went unnoticed until Thursday’s Vietnamese posts were widely shared on the Internet in Vietnam.

Ivanovic's Facebook page, which had a blue verification badge, had over 42,000 followers on Friday. The blue tick appeared to have been removed as of 4:40 pm the same day.

The last content with updates related to Ivanovic on the page dates back to May 15, 2016, when the Serbian defender still played for Chelsea.

The Premier League side’s former star competed in The Blues’ jersey from 2008 to 2017 before moving to Zenit Saint Petersburg in the Russian Premier League in 2018.

With Chelsea, Ivanovic won nine major honors, including three Premier League titles, three FA Cups, one League Cup, the UEFA Champions League, and the UEFA Europa League.
