Vietnam will take on Malaysia on Wednesday evening and should be aiming for a win to seal a place in the knockout stage at the 2022 AFC U23 Asian Cup, without depending on the result of the South Korea-Thailand match later the same night.
The game will be broadcast live on national channel VTV6 and the FPT Play platform at 8:00 pm.
Vietnam ended South Korea’s seven-game winning streak stretching back to their 2020 campaign after holding the defending champions to a 1-1 draw on Sunday night to move to two points in Group C, while the Koreans and Thailand are on four each, with the latter topping the standings.
Two consecutive defeats at the hands of South Korea and Thailand mean rock-bottom Malaysia are already eliminated.
Should Vietnam draw against or be defeated by Malaysia, it would mean the 2018 runners-up will be eliminated, irrespective of how the South Korea-Thailand tie ends later the same night.
The 2022 AFC U23 Asian Cup is the fifth edition of the biennial international football championship organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men’s under-23 national teams of Asia.

A total of 16 teams are competing in four groups at the tournament.
