The foreign players who competed at the Vietnam Professional Basketball League (VBA) 2022 have shared how they adapted to Vietnamese basketball as well as the new environment.
The VBA 2022 brought together many qualified foreign players from the U.S. and several other countries, who often played a key role in their teams thanks to their outstanding physique and technical skills.
These players had a pretty short time to adapt to the new environment and teammates.
American player Flenard Whitfield, who played for Nha Trang Dolphins, shared that he had difficulty getting used to the food and climate in Vietnam.

Whitfield considered the weather and food in Vietnam the biggest obstacles, but he has a lot of experience in adapting to a new environment after previous competitions in many countries.
Vietnamese players are equally competitive as professional players in foreign tournaments, the American player continued.
Each player has a unique set of skills and is evolving in the right direction, he added.
His teammate Cleveland Jackson also said he had problems with the hot and humid atmosphere.

“Sometimes the hot and sunny weather could affect the performance, but that's not an excuse for not playing well,” Jackson stated.
Desean Parsons of Ho Chi Minh City Wings said he was impressed with the enthusiasm from the fans and audience.
Parsons added that Vietnam is one of the most passionate and wonderful places he has ever played in.
