Hanoi will host a music and drone light show featuring 2,025 drones at the intersection of Nguyen Hoang Ton and Lac Long Quan Streets in Tay Ho District on January 18 to welcome the 2025 new year, the municipal administration said on Monday.
The music and drone light show, co-organized by Nhan Dan (People) newspaper, Hanoi's municipal government, and Tay Ho District authorities, is set to kick off at 8:00 pm.
The drones will illuminate the night sky over the capital, accompanied by a symphony orchestra performing to international standards.
Marking a first for Vietnam, the event will feature next-generation dragon drones, promising an exciting and visually captivating experience.
According to the organizer, 2,025 drones represent the 2025 new year, while dragon drones symbolize the novelty, modernity, and magnitude of the program.
Drones will create images showing stories about the history and culture of Hanoi.
Dragon drones are fully handcrafted. Their airframes and all supporting components are crafted from ultra-light carbon fibers, while the covers are made of polypropylene which is used in ultra-light model planes.
The drone light show will be combined with modern laser lights and music, creating a perfect blend of sound and visual art.
The music program will gather many well-known artists, including singers Thanh Hoa, My Tam, Trong Hieu, Kieu Anh, and Do Hoang Hiep, as well as rappers Ha Le and BigDaddy.
On the 2024 Lunar New Year’s Eve, Hanoi also hosted a music and drone light show featuring 2,024 drones in the Trinh Cong Son Walking Street area in Tay Ho District, attracting tens of thousands of residents.
