About 2,000 people participated in the 2023 Marathon Dream Cup on Sunday to raise funds for the needy in Ho Chi Minh City.
The fundraising run was jointly organized by the Vietnam Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City and Diamond Entertainment.
Apart from professional athletes, there were also couples, groups of friends, and families who brought their children to partake in the running event.

Athlete Truong Van Tam clinched the first prize in the men’s 5km race, while athlete Khuat Phuong Anh secured the top spot in the women’s 5km distance.
In the men’s 10km category, athlete Pham Ngoc Phan claimed the first prize, whereas athlete Pham Thi Hong Le, a Vietnamese gold medalist in the women’s 10km event at the 31st SEA Games in Hanoi last year, emerged victorious in the same distance at Sunday’s race.

The total registration fees of over VND453 million (US$19,126) from the run were then donated to the Vietnam Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City to support people in need.
During the event, the organizers deducted VND20 million ($844) from this fund and distributed it to 10 individuals facing difficulties, providing each person with VND2 million ($84.4).
